He Panch Kedar is a group of five sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India. These five temples are Kedarnath, Tungnath, Rudranath, Madhyamaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar. To visit all of them, you’ll need to plan a multi-day itinerary starting from Haridwar. Here’s a suggested itinerary:

Day 1: Haridwar to Guptkashi

  • Start your journey from Haridwar to Guptkashi, which is the base for visiting Kedarnath. You can take a bus or hire a taxi for this journey.
  • Check into a hotel in Guptkashi for an overnight stay.

 

Day 2: Guptkashi to Kedarnath

  • After an early breakfast, drive to Gaurikund, the base for the Kedarnath trek. The road is only open for a certain distance, so you may need to take a shared jeep or trek the remaining distance.
  • Begin your trek to Kedarnath, which is approximately 16-18 kilometers. You can hire a mule or use a helicopter for a part of the journey if needed.
  • Visit the Kedarnath Temple and stay overnight in one of the guesthouses.

 

Day 3: Kedarnath to Guptkashi

  • Start your descent from Kedarnath to Gaurikund.
  • Drive back to Guptkashi and spend the night there.

 

Day 4: Guptkashi to Chopta

  • Depart from Guptkashi and head to Chopta, the base for Tungnath and Chandrashila trek.
  • Check into a hotel or guesthouse in Chopta and relax for the day.

 

Day 5: Chopta to Tungnath and Chandrashila

  • Early morning, trek to Tungnath, which is the highest temple of Lord Shiva in the world.
  • Continue the trek to Chandrashila Peak for breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas.
  • Return to Chopta and stay another night.

 

Day 6: Chopta to Sagar Village (Rudranath Base)

  • Leave Chopta and drive to Sagar Village, which is the starting point for the Rudranath trek.
  • Check into a guesthouse in Sagar Village.

 

Day 7: Sagar Village to Rudranath

  • Start your trek to Rudranath, which is about 21 kilometers from Sagar Village.
  • Visit the Rudranath Temple and spend the night in a guesthouse or camp nearby.

 

Day 8: Rudranath to Mandal (Madhyamaheshwar Base)

  • Trek back to Sagar Village and then drive to Mandal, the base for Madhyamaheshwar.
  • Check into a guesthouse in Mandal.

 

Day 9: Mandal to Madhyamaheshwar

  • Trek to Madhyamaheshwar, which is around 21 kilometers from Mandal.
  • Visit the Madhyamaheshwar Temple and spend the night in the area.

 

Day 10: Mandal to Kalpeshwar and Return to Haridwar

  • Drive from Mandal to Kalpeshwar, which is the last of the Panch Kedar temples.
  • Visit the Kalpeshwar Temple.
  • Afterward, you can start your journey back to Haridwar.
